Conquerors will be August 6-8, 2010
Conquerors is the annual youth conference conducted by the Scenic Hills Church of Christ. The purpose of Conquerors is to provide a non-controversial setting for our teenagers to be spiritually equipped for the upcoming school year. At Conquerors you will be spiritually uplifted through singing, fellowship, and the teaching of God's word. We invite you to join us for a powerful weekend as we draw close to God!
CHANGES FOR 2010:
The growth of Conquerors has resulted in some changes being made to our program in 2010. Some of the changes you should expect this year may include:
- We will be extending the schedule of Conquerors so that it begins on Friday morning and will include 2 full days of breakout classes, activities, and keynote lessons.
- We will no longer be able to offer free housing with our members. Instead, we made arrangements with Quality Inn to provide hotel rooms for all of our guests at the price of $60.00 per night. To learn more about the hotel please click on the Hotel Information link above. Reservations and payments will be made through our congregation and are included in the new registration form. If you have any questions about this process please contact our office.
- We will implement a registration fee of $20.00 which will cover the cost of meals, a t-shirt, and some activities.
If any of the above changes will negatively effect your group's participation in Conquerors this year, please contact our office.
REGISTRATION:
Registration is extremely important in order for us to make arrangements with the hotel, order t-shirts, and provide enough food. Registration is available online. The deadline to register will be Monday, July 5, 2010. |

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Our keynote speaker this year will be Willie Franklin who is pictured here with his wife, Pam. Brother Franklin currently serves as the Campus & Singles Minister for the Denton Church of Christ, Lewisville Church of Christ, and Aubrey Church of Christ in the greater Dallas area. He played collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma and played professionally for the Baltimore Colts from 1971-1972. In 1973 he became a Christian and left professional football to pursue a career in ministry. He has worked with congregations in Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas, and he served as a missionary in Papua New Guinea for a time. Brother Franklin was Conquerors first keynote speaker back when the program began in 1997 and this will be his first appearance with us since 1999.
THEME:
Our theme for 2010 is “Recycled.” Recycling is a prominent aspect of our society’s initiative to be eco-friendly. You and your family may recycle aluminum cans, plastic bottles, newspapers, etc., but have you ever thought about being recycled. The definition of the word recycle is “to recondition and adapt to a new use or function.” In Ephesians 4:22-24 we discover that through the blood of Christ we are recycled because our old self is removed a new self is created. As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” Have you been recycled?
